A woman in her 80s has died after being hit by a car on national highway 28 in Emmaboda.
– The circumstances surrounding the accident will be investigated in more detail. But there is no criminal suspicion against the car driver, says police spokesperson Evelina Olsson to TT.
The accident happened at 5 pm on Friday. Another woman, who is in her 70s, was hit but escaped with minor injuries.
The police have no information that there must have been bad road conditions at the scene.
– We have heard those involved. We will compile the testimonies, and try to understand where on the road this happened and where these two women were, if they tried to cross the road, says Olsson.
