Two players playing for Olympique de Marseille, Jean Onana and Faris Moumbagna, were victims, on the night of Sunday May 19 to Monday May 20, of an attempted theft of their vehicle upon their return from a trip to Le Havre, revealed Europe 1. It was around 4 a.m. when the vehicles of the two players, who were leaving the Commanderie, the training center of Olympique de Marseille, were targeted by the criminals. The events, which took place in the southern districts of the Marseille city, took place in quite frightening conditions. No injuries to report
If neither player was injured, the bullet holes found in the trunk and doors of the vehicles left the scars of great fear for the latter. Although they did not succeed in stealing the cars, the perpetrators of the carjacking managed to flee. The defender of the Marseille team, Bamo Meïté, also at the wheel of his car, was not targeted. The Marseille prosecutor’s office, which confirmed the facts, contacted the city’s judicial police to try to shed light on this event.

Despite this victory, it was not enough for Olympique de Marseille to qualify for the European Cup.
