Two Ohsweken men face firearm charges after gunshots heard

Two men are facing charges after Six Nations police responded to complaints on Monday about gunshots being heard in Ohsweken.

Police went to an area on Indian Line Road at about 5:45 pm where they say they found a man holding a firearm, which he dropped inside a residence on the property when instructed by police.

Another man with a firearm left the residence when instructed by police.

Several firearms, a prohibited weapon and ammunition were seized from the home.

A 36-year-old man and a 40-year-old man are facing numerous firearm-related charges.

Both accused were remanded into custody pending a formal bail hearing at a later date.

Impaired charge laid after driver puts vehicle in ditch

An Ohsweken resident is facing an impaired driving charge after a driver was found in the driver’s side of a vehicle sitting in a ditch on Seneca Road.

Six Nations police were called to the scene at about 11 pm on Saturday.

Police say there was minimal damage to the vehicle after the driver missed a laneway and drove into the ditch. The driver wasn’t injured.

A 27-year-old woman has been charged.
