Örebro Municipality lost seven employees in the massacre at Campus Risbergska.

Most of them worked in elderly care.

– The entire social service is in mourning, says area manager Annika Roman.

Memorials replaced each other in the Nikola church in Örebro on Wednesday. The municipality invited all employees to the social administration to honor the colleagues who died in the mass shooting at Risbergska.

Annika Roman, area manager for healthcare and care, participated in a press conference during the morning. She came directly from the church and was noticeably affected.

– I’ll do my best to give you a picture of how we have worked and how we think.

– We know today that we have several deceased who until a week ago had their belonging with us and in our operations.

Two were colleagues

Aftonbladet’s survey shows that seven of the dead worked within the municipality. Several were care assistants in the elderly care who studied for nurses at Campus Risbergska. Two of the dead worked in the same workplace.

– Our main task is to provide human warmth, create relationships, perform healthcare and give a good life to both young and old, says Annika Roman.

A lot of focus is now placed on providing support to employees.

– We have a lot of employees who mourn a colleague, friend or relative.

The motive is unknown

Aftonbladet already reported the day after the massacre that one of the police’s main tracks was that the act may have been directed at the social services. In connection with this, information came that several employees at the Social Administration, which included health care and care were missing. These people have now been confirmed dead.

What Rickard Andersson had for motives is still unknown.

On Wednesday Published Expressen a video Where Rickard Andersson reads aloud from what seems to be a letter from the municipality. It shows that he has been selected for sample check regarding an application for support. The film is probably recorded in 2021.

If it was this that drove him to commit the mass shooting, and why he chose to strike against Campus Risbergska, is not clear. However, the police have confirmed that he had been enrolled in adult education on several occasions.

– Since the perpetrator is dead, there is no one to interrogate. We are not sure that we will find a clear motive. We know based on both Swedish and international experience that it can be difficult if the perpetrator did not leave clear indications, said Deputy Regional Police Chief Niclas Hallgren in an interview on Tuesday evening.
