In the last week of April, the MMORPGs Aion Classic and Mad World celebrate their release. We will briefly introduce them to you and explain who they might be of interest to.
What are these MMORPGs? The two Free2Play titles are not regular MMORPGs – Aion Classic, as the name suggests, is a Classic version of the original servers. Mad World, on the other hand, is an MMORPG that you can play in your browser.
While Aion is aimed more at PvP fans, Mad World also caters to PvE fans.
Aion Classic – Plays Aion like version 1.9
What is the game? With the Classic servers, you can play Aion like it was in 2008. You’ll experience the content up to level 50, including open world flying, ancient dungeons, rifts, and the PvP battles in the Abyss.
However, technical adjustments and balance patches that have been made since then are retained. As well as bug fixes.
In addition, Aion Classic will continue to be developed in Korea. There is already a completely new class and a new dungeon there. We should also get these changes in Europe, as publisher Gameforge confirms. So Aion Classic will be more of a format like Old School RuneScape with new content rather than WoW Classic.

Who is it worth it for? Aion Classic is particularly exciting for fans of the earlier Aion. Some of them are disappointed with the development of the current MMORPG and wish for the good old days when there was no autoplay.
If you haven’t played Aion before but like PvP, you’ve come to the right place. In the Abyss there are big battles for fortresses and in the open world there are always small skirmishes between the two factions Asmodians and Elyos.
If you don’t like PvP, you can still take a look, because in PvE there are difficult and varied dungeons.
When exactly does it appear? Aion Classic launches on April 25, 2023. You can download the game now so you can play right away when the time comes.
Mad World – A dark MMORPG in the browser
What is the game? Mad World is basically a browser game based on HTML5. No download is required, you can get started right in your browser. Mad World is being developed by Jandisoft, who previously worked on the MMORPG classic Metin 2, among other things.
Mad World throws you into a post-apocalyptic fantasy world haunted by dark forces. You must fight for a better future.
You see your character from the ISO perspective, similar to Lost Ark. The unique and whimsical enemies, which look like they’re straight out of the single-player hit Darkest Dungeon, are all hand-drawn, according to the developers.
You explore this world together with friends and meet NPCs who have quests for you that continue the story of Mad World. In addition to PvE, PvP and crafting also play a role.

Who is it worth it for? The MMORPG is worthwhile for fans of the genre who want to experience something completely different. The graphics are appealing in their own way, with grotesque-looking monsters that are hand-drawn.
Fans of intricately animated 3D graphics with huge open worlds are in the wrong place here. However, you have nothing to lose – if you want to take a look at Mad World, you don’t have to download or buy the MMORPG, as it is based on a Free2Play model.
When exactly does it appear? Mad World starts on April 27, 2023. Anyone who bought a Founders Pack was able to play a few days earlier.
