Challengers, formerly in the Regional Leagues, winners will be promoted to the Challengers Ascension, where the opportunity to take part in the International League awaits teams.
With these initiatives; Many big topics are targeted, such as expanding the VALORANT esports ecosystem, building local communities, and providing a solid footing for new players to reach the international level while facilitating access to regional esports opportunities.
Both countries were included in the Spanish: Rising VALORANT Regional League in 2022 and from 2023 both will have their own league.
The number of players in Italy is incredible and VALORANT is one of the most popular FPS games in the country. There is massive fan support, and broadcasters are starting to tap into that support, helping to grow the VALORANT community in the region. It was decided that the next step to be taken was to give the country its own Challengers League.
Portugal also received an invitation to appear on the VALORANT stage. VALORANT has been a focal point since its launch, and the country boasts countless FPS PC gamers and esports fans. On top of that, considering it already has a properly built amateur esports scene, this is the perfect place for future professional esports to grow up.
Italy tournament organizer will be PG Esports. It has been running the Italian regional league of League of Legends with great success since 2018 and is known for its excellent production quality at its events for many esports games.
