Only at 17:58 did the alarm come in about a traffic accident between Sandnäset golf course and Ås on the E14. A southbound passenger car is said to have collided with two moose – a cow and calf. At the same time, another calf ran across the road and was hit by a northbound car, according to the police.
The driver of the southbound car had to be taken to hospital, but the extent of his injuries is unclear. There is some limited access to the site.
– All three moose are said to have died from the collision, but a hunter has been sent there to deal with it, says Elin Andersson, spokesperson for the police.

Fifteen minutes later, SOS raised the alarm again, when another moose collision occurred on road 614 on Rödön. There are no personal injuries – but the moose is dead.
