Van den Broeck was found dead in a parking lot on February 13, 2023. His body was already in a state of decomposition. The Public Prosecution Service (OM) assumes that he died of carbon monoxide poisoning as a result of an accident on February 6, 2023, in a drug lab in Veenendaal where amphetamine was produced. One other suspect in this case, a man from Roermond (43), was also poisoned.
