Two men are acquitted in the district court for the garage murder

It was in June 2023 that a man in his 30s was shot dead in a parking garage in Malmö while his one-year-old daughter was sitting in the back seat.

The shots did not hit the girl, who escaped unharmed, but one of the shots stuck in the latch of the door right next to where she was sitting.

Something that the police believe may have saved her life.

“A hit a few centimeters in either direction would probably have resulted in the door being perforated,” the police write in the preliminary investigation.

Acquitted of the shooting

In October, two men in their 30s were charged – one for the man’s murder and the attempted murder of the one-year-old girl, and the other for aiding and abetting murder.

However, the two accused men were released in November and are now acquitted of involvement in the shooting.

This as it cannot be established beyond reasonable doubt that the two men were involved.

The man who was suspected of aiding and abetting murder, on the other hand, is sentenced to prison for serious weapons offences.

This when several videos of guns were found in the man’s mobile phone.
