The Israeli army on Thursday killed two Palestinians in a raid on the Jenin refugee camp: an Islamic Jihad commander and a close associate, bringing the number of Palestinians killed in the past 72 hours to eight. In a statement, the Israeli army announced that it had arrested nine people and killed ” two important leaders during a raid: Mohammed Ayman al-Saadi, 26, leader of the armed wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad in the Jenin refugee camp, and Naïm Jamal Zubaidi, 27, one of his relatives, the cousin of the famous Palestinian prisoner Zakaria Zubaidi. Both were shot dead at dawn.
Information confirmed by the Jenin battalion of the Islamic Jihad’s al-Quds brigades, which says it has lost two of its leaders. The bodies of the two men were carried by a crowd of Palestinians from the Ibn Sina hospital and then through the streets of the Jenin refugee camp.
