Two local men are facing charges in separate single-vehicle crashes that happened on the weekend.

A 47-year-old Chatham was arrested for impaired driving after Chatham-Kent police responded to a call at 4:33 am Sunday about a vehicle flipped over in a field on Queen’s Line.

The driver was assessed by paramedics at the scene.

While speaking to the driver, an officer believed he was under the influence of alcohol. The accused was arrested and transported to police headquarters for breath tests, which resulted in him being charged with having a blood-alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit and impaired operation.

He was released with a Nov. 28 short date.

Just after 9 pm Saturday, police responded to a call about a single-vehicle crash on MacEwen Line in Bothwell.

Police said a vehicle driven by a 19-year-old male struck a hydro pole.

There were no injuries.

Police said the driver was charged with multiple Highway Traffic Act offences.

Vehicle stolen

Chatham-Kent police are investigating the theft of a vehicle in Wallaceburg.

Police were called to Albert Street area just after 9 am Saturday and learned that sometime overnight a blue 2012 Hyundai Accent with Ontario license plate CJYJ74 was stolen.
