The accident happened around 1:30 am. A road sweeper with a trailer drove across the hard shoulder to clean the road surface, with a Heijmans crash absorber behind it, intended to absorb any collisions. A truck with a trailer then crashed into the Heijmans vehicle, after which the crash absorber ended up on the verge. Two people have been taken to hospital.
