Two imams are fired from Gothenburg’s mosque

Last Friday, a prayer was held in Gothenburg’s mosque for the terror-classified Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh. According to the mosque, it was held at the request of a visitor and neither management nor the CEO was consulted.

“Theologically Correct”

According to the imam, his intention was to deserve a final prayer. But in one press release Gothenburg’s mosque writes that the decision to hold the prayer was “theologically correct, but inappropriate given his status”.

Imams must be trained

Two imams at the mosque will be dismissed:

“After an internal investigation, we have decided to dismiss the two imams from their duties. They will not give any Friday sermons or lead any prayers for the time being”.

All imams will now be further trained, so that similar situations are not repeated, writes the mosque.
