Police in St. Thomas are appealing to the public for help to find the driver of a vehicle that struck two women riding an electric vehicle at a crosswalk, sending both to hospital with injuries.
The driver of the dark gray Jeep involved in the Friday evening collision failed to remain at the scene, on Talbot Street between First Avenue and Burwell Road, police said. The collision occurred shortly before 6 p.m.
Witnesses at the scene said the Jeep was turning onto Talbot, heading west, when the two women on the scooter were struck. The vehicle traveling west on Talbot later turned north onto First Avenue, police said.

Police seek video in fatal Townsend collision
An unidentified male pedestrian was killed in a Friday night collision in Townsend, south of Brantford, police said.
The collision occurred about 10:30 pm on Indian Line, north of Cemetery Road, in Townsend. Police investigating the collision had not publicly identified the man, pending family notification.
The driver of the vehicle was not hurt, police said.
Officers from the OPP’s Norfolk detachment and the Six Nations police were among the emergency personnel who responded to the crash, with the OPP looking for anyone who might have captured the collision on video including dashcam footage.
