Two hospitalized after head-on crash on Longwoods Road

Thefts under investigation by Chatham Kent police

Chatham-Kent police, fire and EMS responded to a head-on collision Friday on Longwoods Rd, just east of Prince Albert Road, shortly after 11 am

Both drivers were extricated from the vehicles and taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening, police said.

Break-in at Bowlerama

Just after 4:30 am on Saturday, police attended Bowlerama on Keil Drive for an alarm.

The front door to the business was found to be insecure, with a cash tray taken from a register, police said, adding the investigation is ongoing.

Crash leads to impaired charge

On Friday, just after 11 pm, police received a call that a driver on Degge Street in Chatham had struck a parked car and allegedly fled the scene.

Police found the suspect vehicle on Merritt Avenue in Chatham. The driver was also located and issued a roadside breath test. He was arrested and taken to headquarters for further breath tests.

The 23-year-old Chatham man was charged with failing to stop after a crash and having over 80 mg of alcohol in his blood while operating a motor vehicle. He was released with a short date.

Office building entered

Police responded Friday morning to an address on Thames Street that has multiple businesses inside.

It was determined that sometime overnight, unknown suspects entered the office building and took multiple items valued at approximately $3,000.

electronics stolen

Just after 10 am on Friday, police responded to an apartment complex on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg for a break and enter.

Investigation revealed an unknown suspect entered the apartment through an unlocked kitchen window. A TV and laptop valued at $850 were taken, police said.
