Zijderveld has her Olympic title in that class prongolized. In the run-up to Paris, the 23-year-old swimmer still had to recover from a hip injury. She was nervous before the competition, almost fainted and wanted to throw in the towel and go home. “I’m glad I did it anyway,” she says. “This was probably the hardest of my career.”
