Two German warships are ready to sail through the Taiwan Strait, if the country’s leadership so orders.
The ship’s commander told news agency Reuters about the readiness.
In recent weeks, the United States and its allies have accelerated the traffic of warships in the Taiwan Strait.
According to China, the strait is under its control. The United States and Taiwan consider the strait part of international waters.
German navy ships have sailed through the Taiwan Strait for the last time in 2002.
