Two former influencers close to Ali Bongo targeted by defamation

In Gabon, two former famous influencers who returned to the country after the fall of the Ali Bongo regime are now banned from leaving the country. The ban on leaving Gabon was decided by a judge on Stéphane Nzeng and Landry Washington after a criminal complaint filed by Hervé Patrick Opiangah, a former close friend of the deposed president. He accuses the two Gabonese activists, who have become close to the military in power, of defamation, public insults and attacks on his honor.

The facts that upset Hervé Patrick Opiangah date back several years. In 2022, for example, the French journalist Romain Molina revealed a Pedophilia scandal in Gabonese football. Many heads roll and many football leaders are thrown in prison.

Stephane Nzeng, then based in Paris, maintains that Hervé Patrick Opiangah is one of the sexual predators. The latter was then president of a football club.

Landry Washington, who resided in the United States, did not hesitate to call Opiangah a ” rapist “, ” pedophile “, ” thug ” And ” assassin who killed the Gabonese to keep the Bongos in power “.

According to his relatives, the now politician and businessman Hervé Patrick Opiangah decided to clear his honour and reputation. Hence the complaint for insults in public and via social networks.

At the end of last week, the three parties were heard by an investigating judge who issued a ban on the two accused leaving the country. The date of the next hearing is not yet known.
