A man and woman from Brantford have been charged following an attempted robbery with a firearm.

Police say they received a report of a man brandishing a firearm outside a Murray Street residence on Sunday morning.

Police arrived at the residence at about 6 am but said the suspects ran away and were later found at a home on Sarah Street.
Police say a 40-year-old woman was arrested outside the residence for outstanding warrants. About 0.5 grams of suspected fentanyl was in her possession, say police.
A 47-year-old man barricaded himself for about an hour before leaving the Sarah Street home to be arrested by officers, say police.
The man was taken to hospital due to suspected drug use.
Police executed a search warrant at the Sarah Street residence at about 10:15 am on Tuesday where they found a replica firearm, about 136 grams of suspected cocaine and about 23 grams of suspected fentanyl.
Police say the incident isn’t random as the individuals involved know each other.

A Brantford woman is charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000; mischief under $5,000; possession of fentanyl; and non-compliance of probation order.
Both accused were held for bail.
