Two detonations one after the other on the same street in Gothenburg

The alarm about loud explosions reached the police at 01:30 on Wednesday night.

Just a few minutes apart, two explosions had occurred at two different residential entrances on the same street in Västra Frölunda, southwest of Gothenburg.

– It is quite close to each other. The entrance gates have been damaged, says Göran Carlbom, officer on duty at the police.

There are no injuries reported in connection with the explosions.

Examining connections

The National Bomb Squad and technicians are on their way to investigate the scene. At the same time, the police have a large effort at the address and are investigating connections between the explosions.

– It is far too early to say anything about, but is of course something we have to work on, says Göran Carlbom.

The incidents are classified as gross destruction of public danger and gross violation of the Act on Flammable and Explosive Goods.

There are no suspects or arrests at this time.
