Two people have been detained on suspicion of murder or attempted murder after two shootings in Eskilstuna, reports P4 Sörmland.

The two shootings happened less than a day apart at the end of August. First, a 35-year-old man was shot to death in the Årby district, and the following morning a man in his 20s was shot and wounded in a stairwell in the Lagersberg district.

– One person is in custody on probable cause suspected of both the murder in Årby and the attempted murder in Lagersberg, says prosecutor Miona Green to Eskilstuna-Kuriren.

– And then there is a person who is in custody for the attempted murder in Lagersberg. The latter person is also in custody for two additional suspicions of serious drug crime and serious weapons crime.

The district court has decided to cover further information about the detained persons with secrecy. After the shootings, the police decided to introduce two so-called safety zones in Eskilstuna.
