The police were alerted at 23:07 on Saturday evening after several calls about loud bangs in Grimmered, in southwest Gothenburg.
At the scene, two men were found with suspected gunshot wounds and were taken to hospital by ambulance.
Great police effort
The place was cordoned off and a preliminary investigation into attempted murder is being launched. The police launched a major operation in the area in southern Gothenburg during the evening.
Several witnesses were heard at the scene.
Two men dead
On Sunday morning, police confirmed that the two men who were confirmed to have been shot had died from their injuries.
It concerns a man in his 25s and a man in his 30s. Next of kin have been notified.
No one has been arrested or suspected.
