Several Swedes compete
There are several Swedish competitors on site in Spain, both in the elite classes and in the “age group classes” where you compete in age categories.
Competing in the elite classes are the following:
The former, Tilda Månsson, also represented Sweden in the Olympics in Paris.
The Olympics were a challenging race for all the competitors, so also for the Swedish jumper, who was the youngest in the starting field.
The race was marred by potentially being canceled due to the water in the River Seine not being clean enough. But the competition was over and afterwards Månsson told SVT about water quality.
– You felt that it was sewage that you were swimming in, not so fresh.
Månsson went on to tell about a messy swim.
– Someone pushed me down by a buoy, and then there was a line attached to the bottom that I got stuck in. And because it was so strong, I pulled against the line all the time, so only when everyone had passed could I get around .
She also commented on the sporting part.
– I had obviously hoped for even better. You always dream and I wanted to dare to do it before. But I also have to be satisfied with being 23rd, I entered here ranked 27th.
