Two dead after explosion on bridge between USA and Canada

Two people have died after a car exploded on the Rainbow Bridge which forms the border between the US and Canada. Fox News reports.

Now the FBI is investigating the incident, according to the same information.

Sources for Fox News believe that it must have been an attempt at a terrorist attack. Fox News also reports that a border police officer has been injured in connection with the explosion.

Traveled in the car

Shortly before 12 noon, local time, the police were alerted to a loud bang on the bridge, after a car drove at high speed towards the US border. The two who died were both traveling in the car.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul writes on X that the bridge has been forced to close and that they are “monitoring the situation”. According to CBS News four border crossings at Niagara Falls are closed.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says in a statement that it is a very serious incident.
