Two people, a man and a woman aged 55-60, have died after a diving accident on Friday at Stavsnäs on Värmdö east of Stockholm, the police say.
The alarm about the accident came at 2:16 p.m. According to the Maritime and Air Rescue Center (JRCC), the diving party consisted of two men and a woman who got into trouble below the surface.
– One of the men managed to get the other man out of the water. He was then unconscious, says Johan Wahlström, press spokesperson at JRCC.
The woman was initially missing. She was found unconscious around 3:30 p.m. The surviving man is now being treated in hospital.
