THE Senegal entered a period of turbulence after the postponement sine die on February 3, 2024 of the presidential election and the arrest of opponents who came to protest on February 4 against this decision.

A few hours before a vote in the National Assembly on the postponement of the election, many questions are still unanswered: when will the vote take place? What will happen on April 2, the date on which Macky Sall’s mandate officially ends? Did the country’s president have the right to postpone the vote so close to the deadline?
