Two climbers plunged 1000 meters to their deaths in Switzerland

The Matterhorn mountain is one of the most dangerous in the world in terms of fatalities.

Two climbers have died after falling 1,000 meters down the Matterhorn in the Swiss Alps.

According to the police, the duo started their climbing career early on Wednesday. The rescue services in the area were alerted after the climbers had not returned to their starting point. A game helicopter later spotted two bodies north of the Matterhorn.

So far, there is no information about the climbers’ nationalities.

The Matterhorn is located on the border between Switzerland and Italy. Its height is 4,478 meters. The mountain is one of the most dangerous in the world in terms of fatalities.
