An accident involving two minibuses carrying children took place on the RN 88, in Aveyron, on Sunday evening. 11 people were injured including two children in relative emergency. A 26-year-old man is in urgent need.

In Aveyron, the RN 88 was the scene of a serious accident on the evening of Sunday May 14, 2023. Two minibuses transporting children collided causing at least eleven injuries, according to the first assessment reported by Aveyron Press Center. Among the victims, two 13-year-old teenagers are in relative emergency. One of them was stuck in one of the vehicles and had to be extricated by the emergency services. None of the children seem to have their vital prognosis engaged and the latest news of their condition was reassuring, notes the local media. In addition to the injured teenagers, a 26-year-old man is in absolute emergency and one of the two drivers is in critical condition.

Accident between two minibuses

The two minibuses collided on the national road 88 in the direction of Rodez-Laissac and at the level of the municipality of La Loubière. All the circumstances of the accident are not known, but according to the first elements, the driver of a minibus transporting seven people including children would have lost control of the vehicle which would have overturned in a ditch. The passengers of the minibus would be members of the Avenir Foot Lozère club.

The intervention is still in progress on the RN 88 this Monday morning. Traffic is also reduced and possible on a single lane until the end of the intervention. Seven fire engines and two SMUR teams were deployed to the scene yesterday evening, around 8 p.m., to take care of the injured. The mayor of La Loubière, Magali Bessaou, expressed her sadness and her support for the victims. She added to Aveyron Press Center : “In this period when we are working on the RN 88, I hope that the anti-all will be able to understand the importance of this project.
