Two Chatham women face charges after police searched a home and seized illegal drugs including suspected fentanyl and cocaine.
Police said Friday they used a warrant to search a home Aug. 1 on Wellington Street West in Chatham and seized drugs worth more than $6,000, drug paraphernalia and $680 in cash.
Two suspects, both women from Chatham, were arrested and taken to police headquarters.
The 31-and 36-year-olds are charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. The 36-year-old woman is also charged with one count of failing to comply with a release order.
The younger woman was released with conditions and a short date, while the older woman was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Goods worth $8,500 stolen in Chatham break-in
Police are investigating a residential break-in in the area of Daniel’s Place in Chatham in which goods valued at about $8,500 were taken.
Chatham-Kent police said the intrusion took place sometime between Monday and Wednesday this week. Numerous items were taken.

Tips sought in Chatham business intrusion
Chatham-Kent police are investigating a Thursday intrusion at a business in the Richmond Street area of Chatham and asking anyone with information that can help to contact them.
Police said an alarm at the business was tripped about 2:20 am Thursday, and that the intruder or intruders gained entry by damaging a door.
