On Saturday night, Chatham-Kent police received a call from an alarm company advising that a business on Grand Avenue West had multiple alarm hits in their storage trailers.
Upon police arrival, an officer spotted a male suspect allegedly moving pallets from behind a storage trailer. As the suspect began to walk away, he was met by the officer and arrested.
While doing so, the officer observed another suspect running from the scene. Police tracked the second suspect to a house under renovation on Lark Street. The suspect was found hiding and arrested.
It was alleged the suspects used a cordless grinder to cut the locks off of four storage trailers and had removed approximately $10,000 worth of items. A rented moving truck was also parked nearby.
The accused individuals, both from Windsor, were charged with four counts of break and enter, possession of break-in tools, two counts of theft over $5,000 and possession over $5,000. They were released with a short date.
Well-being checks lead to arrests
On Saturday afternoon, police attended the area of Keil Drive for a well-being check.
Police located the man, who was found to have a warrant for an alleged assault. He was arrested and released with a court date.
In a separate matter, police were called Saturday night to the area of the hospital in Chatham to check on the well-being of a male.
Police located him and learned he had a warrant for allegedly failing to attend court. He was arrested and released with another court date.
