Police are once again reminding residents to lock their windows and doors after two residential break-ins in Simcoe this week.
A homeowner on Donly Drive North awoke to the sound of someone in their home at shortly after 5 am on Tuesday. The resident thought it was someone they knew, said police.
Later, it was discovered an unknown individual had entered the home and removed an Acer Chromebook lap-top computer and a Nintendo Wii.
Norfolk OPP say another residential break-in was reported Thursday at a home on Carriage Road in Simcoe.
In the early morning hours, someone entered the residence while the homeowner was sleeping and removed an iPad from the kitchen counter.
“Police are reminding all homeowners to ensure that all doors and windows are secured in order to prevent anyone from gaining access to their residence,” said a media release from OPP Const. Ed Sanchuck.
Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to contact Norfolk County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
