Two Brantford men face drug trafficking charges

A traffic stop on Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation resulted in charges for two Brantford men.

Six Nations Police stopped a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Sour Springs Road just before 2:30 pm on Wednesday, May 22.

Officers noticed signs that the driver may have been impaired by drugs or other substances.

Further investigation resulted in the seizure of a large amount of cocaine, along with a small quantity of fentanyl, with the driver and passenger taken into custody.

A 24-year-old Brantford man is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking: cocaine; possession of fentanyl; possession of the proceeds of crime under $5,000; impaired operation of a motor vehicle; drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – 50 km/h or more over posted speed limit; speeding; and drive motor vehicle – improper license.

The passenger, also a 24-year-old man from Brantford, is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking: cocaine; possession of fentanyl; and possession of the proceeds of crime under $5,000.
