A 14- and 16-year-old was arrested at Malmö central station last night, according to information given to TV4 Nyheterna.
The boys are seen as “child soldiers” and came on a train from Stockholm – both are now suspected of preparation for murder.
– The arrest has prevented a new act of violence, says a source.
According to information given to TV4 Nyheterna, the teenagers are from Stockholm and took the train to Malmö on Thursday.
Shortly after they arrived at the station in the evening, the police were able to arrest both. According to information to TV4 Nyheterna, they are suspected of having taken on the task of carrying out a serious violent crime.
– They are believed to have been recruited and the purpose of the trip to Malmö was to commit the act of violence, says a source to TV4 Nyheterna.
The prosecutor confirms that two minors are suspected of preparation for murder. The younger of them was handed over to social authorities as he is not of legal age, while the older one was arrested for the murder plans.
– The case is in a sensitive phase and we are looking at all the circumstances, says prosecutor Mårten Alvinsson, who is otherwise tight-lipped about the investigation.
“Red Mode”
The police see the arrest as a prevented murder and links to the ongoing wave of violence in Malmö are being investigated, according to the same information. During the night of Friday, several raids and house searches were carried out in connection with the prevented crime.
TV4 News was previously able to reveal that a 13- and 17-year-old boy was arrested after an attack on a hotel in Malmö this weekend. The 13-year-old had an automatic carbine in the room. Both are suspected of preparation for murder.
Sources tell TV4 Nyheterna that the Malmö police have classified the conflict situation in the city as “red”. Which means that the assessment has been made that events of a serious nature are likely to occur in the near future. They also work intensively to dampen and break the wave of violence.
