Two arrested – police investigating murder

Two people have been arrested after a person was reported missing in Finspång.
A stream has been emptied to facilitate the search and the rescue service has also been called.
– We have a report regarding an injured person and a report about murder, says Mats Persson, press spokesperson at the police.

On Monday, the police and rescue services searched in Finspång outside Norrköping for a person who had been reported missing.

– It is an ongoing event, because we have not found the person who was reported missing, says Mats Persson.

The police state that they have not made any decisive findings and do not know at the moment whether any crime has been committed. They also do not want to comment on when the person was reported missing.

– The person is still missing, but it could be that he will appear again, says Mats Persson.

Empty in the search

Together with the rescue service, the police have, among other things, searched the Finspångsån. The river has also been emptied to facilitate the search.

– We are there and help the police in their work, says Daniel Agerhult, duty officer at the rescue service.

The search for the missing person continued during the afternoon. The incident was initially handled as a missing person but is now also being investigated as a murder.

– We cannot rule anything out and that is why two have been arrested, says Mats Persson, press spokesperson at the police.

At the same time, the police say that nothing concrete has emerged in the case yet, but that there are circumstances that must be clarified.

– We don’t have much more to go on than to search in every way we can, including through internal reconnaissance and by talking to those arrested, says Mats Persson.
