Two people have been arrested on suspicion of the murder of a man in Umeå this weekend, the Public Prosecutor’s Office announces.
The persons, a woman in her 25s and a man in her 30s, are reasonable suspects. It is the lower level of suspicion.
By Friday at the latest, prosecutors must decide whether they should be remanded in custody or released.
The prosecutor’s office is not sharing any details about the background to the suspicion “in light of the sensitive nature of the investigation.”
It was during the night towards Sunday, in the Mariehem area, that a man in his 30s was found injured outside. He later died in hospital from his injuries, which according to the police had been inflicted with some form of care.
On Sunday, another man was arrested and detained, also a reasonable suspect. He was released after questioning on Monday.
