Two men in their 20s are wanted by detainees on suspicion of aggravated arson after the fires in Trollhättan between Thursday and Friday, Swedish Radio Ekot reports.
A parking garage, an abandoned townhouse and a total of 34 cars were set on fire on Thursday night and Friday night. Five of the fires started almost simultaneously, in different places, and the police stated that they suspected that they had been started in a coordinated action.
Despite the extensive fires, no one was injured.
– The terraced house turned out to be a demolition property that the rescue service had burned down, but several apartments near the parking garage have had to be evacuated due to the smoke, said Göran Carlbom, duty officer at police region West, to TT.
Whether the men are suspected of one or more of the fires is unclear, according to Ekot.
