Two are in custody after the explosion in Uppsala – when a woman was killed

A 24-year-old woman, newly graduated teacher, died in an explosion in Uppsala last Thursday night.
Now two men are in custody for aggravated destruction and murder.
Another person is suspected of aiding and abetting the crimes.

The dead young woman was not the target.

But she happened to be next to the target.

At 03:46 on Thursday night, a powerful bomb detonated in a residential area in Uppsala. The explosion, heard from two miles away, completely destroyed two houses and damaged three more properties at the address.

The blast targeted relatives of “Kurdish Fox” Rawa Majid, 37, and is being investigated as part of the ongoing phalanx war within Foxtrot.

The woman who instead fell victim lived in the neighboring house. Earlier this summer, she had taken a teaching degree and was neither a criminal nor had any other connection to the conflict. But she happened to be sleeping in her home. And became another outside victim in the ruthless gang violence.

Arrested about a quarter of an hour after the crime

Shortly after the explosion, the police were able to stop a car on the E4. Two men, aged 21 and 33, who were in the vehicle were arrested at 04.03 for the bombing.

Today, despite their denials, both were detained by the Uppsala district court on probable cause, suspected of gross public danger destruction and murder.

During the custody hearing, the prosecutor called the crimes a war-like state.

Both the 21- and 33-year-old are known to the police from before, but not for crimes of a more serious nature. The younger of them has been convicted of theft, among other things, while the other has committed money laundering and various drug crimes.

Another person is under arrest on suspicion of aiding and abetting the crimes.
