Hospitalized for several days in Pennsylvania, he has since been moved to a secret location for security reasons.
On the investigative side, the man – an American of Lebanese origin – accused of stabbing Salman Rushdie is still in prison awaiting trial. He had pleaded not guilty and said he was surprised to learn that the writer had survived. The attack shocked the West, but was hailed by extremists in Muslim countries such as Iran and Pakistan.
