Among those responsible for the rebellion of the Democratic and Allied Forces (ADF) neutralized are Mzee Musa, in charge of the movement’s reconnaissance unit and Djaffar alias Muhadari, in charge of supplying the Mzee Supa Taban camp.
The two leaders were killed last Sunday, in the Bapere sector, in the Lubero territory, underlines the spokesperson for the Sokola 1 Grand Nord operational sector.
Civil society in the Beni territory specifies that these two men are known in the region. They were often cited by hostages kidnapped by the ADF. In recent weeks, the Congolese and Ugandan armies have intensified their operations in Mambasa territory, where ADF fighters have taken refuge. Fighting was still underway in the region this Thursday.
According to the FARDC, around ten ADF fighters have been neutralized since the beginning of the month, while a precarious lull is observed in the region. These operations come at a time when the population commemorated, on Tuesday, the start of the ADF massacres. Over the past 10 years, the rebels, now affiliated with the Islamic State group, have killed 7,000 people.
