Brantford Minor Hockey Association under-16 AAA 99ers players Lucas Karmiris and Marek Vanacker made history on Friday during the OHL Priority Selection.
Karmiris, a Brantford native, was selected 13th overall by the Mississauga Steelheads while Vanacker, a Delhi native, was taken 23rd overall by the Hamilton Bulldogs.
It’s the first time two players from a 99ers team have been selected in the first round of the OHL draft, in the same year.
The draft continues Friday and concludes Saturday.
