Twitter Elon Musk appoints Linda Yaccarino to head the social

Six months after buying Twitter, Elon Musk has found a general manager to replace him at the head of the social network. This is Linda Yaccarino, a 59-year-old seasoned executive who until then was responsible for advertising within the NBCUniversal group.

“She will focus mainly on business, while I will take care of product design and new technologies”, announced in a tweet, this Friday, May 12, the boiling boss of the Californian platform.

The majority shareholder of Twitter nevertheless intends to remain involved in the conduct of operations, and will become executive chairman of the board of directors and technical manager, in charge of the supervision of products and software.

Over 30 years in television advertising

During her twelve years at NBCUniversal, a subsidiary of the cable operator Comcast, Linda Yaccarino, who resigned from her former functions on Friday, helped to unify all of the group’s media within a single advertising platform in order to simplify offer to advertisers. It has also worked to improve advertising effectiveness indicators, to enable advertisers to better measure the impact of their campaigns.

With a career spanning more than 30 years in television advertising (she is also with the Turner group), she will bring experience to the social network but also an address book provided, at a time when Twitter is suffering from disengagement of advertisers.

In December, a majority of Twitter users wanted Elon Musk to leave after a poll launched by the boss of the social network. Since the takeover of Twitter by Elon Musk in October, many have disengaged, scalded by the hussar, unpredictable management of the boiling billionaire, as well as by uncertainties about the moderation of content.
