Twitter bot accounts could discourage Elon Musk

Expressing that he is not clearly informed about Twitter bot accounts, Elon Musk may interrupt the purchase process.

Elon Musk, who is waiting for proper information from the platform about Twitter bot accounts, announced that he has suspended the purchase process for now. During the day, Musk shared the news of Reuters that “the number of fake/bot accounts on the platform is less than 5 percent, according to Twitter’s claim,” and stated that he is waiting for Twitter to prove the 5 percent rate.

Twitter may not have properly informed about bot accounts

Twitter shares plunged 20 percent after Elon Musk said he was “putting the Twitter sale on hold.” Considering that what Musk says does not keep what he says, of course, this situation can change at any time. But one thing is for sure, Elon Musk has always been against fake/bot accounts. The crazy billionaire had previously stated that he would wage war against fake accounts “if he ever bought Twitter”.

Of course, the real problem here is that Twitter knowingly misinformed Elon Musk about bot accounts. Fake accounts, which regular Twitter users encounter with a very, very frequent rate, are not given much attention by Twitter. If the number of fake/bot accounts on the platform exceeds 5 percent, the sale may be cancelled. However, Elon Musk has to make a $1 billion “cancellation payment” to Twitter in such a case.
