Some streamers got a bit bored on Twitch and came up with an idea that ended up causing the toaster to catch fire.
Who is the person you are talking about? The Brit Tobias James Smith, who streams under the name “Tubbo”, is an English content creator who is currently running a subathon on Twitch. The streamer has now been live continuously for over 45 days. Tubbo has over 5 million followers on Twitch and is one of the biggest live streamers in the UK.
On day 45 of his subathon, the streamer, who posted many Minecraft videos before his Twitch career, began experimenting with his toaster.
A subbathon is also a recurring topic at xQc, you can see more about it here.
Streamer melted plastic toys in a toaster
What was the streamer experimenting with? The streamer and his friends put a toaster on an island in the kitchen, but instead of using it to make a British cucumber sandwich, the streamers put plastic toys in the toaster and let them melt. In the “Will it Toast” challenge, the viewers were allowed to decide what went into the toaster.
He posed for a picture on X (formerly Twitter) before the toasting began. Tubbo and his friends toast a doll, then a gel eye. The first toaster then broke.
Next, the streamer let his chat vote on whether chocolate, digestive biscuits or a rubber squeeze ball should go into the toaster. The chat chose the rubber ball.
What happened with the rubber ball? At first the toaster smoked a little, but the smoke quickly became stronger. Tubbo’s friends and himself were a little worried when half the kitchen was already full of smoke and wildly waved the smoke away with cutting boards.
It happened as it had to happen: the toaster burst into flames. While everyone was screaming loudly, the fire extinguisher was pulled out and the camera was covered.
While the picture remained black, a bang was heard and the fire alarm went off. When the camera films the event again, the fire has been extinguished. Tubbu and his friends stood in the smoke-filled kitchen for a moment before deciding to leave the room.
On X, he later shared a clip of the moment the toaster caught fire:
Does this all have consequences? The Twitch streamer has received criticism on social media so far, but is still streaming. He is still online today on day 47 of his live streams. Twitch itself has so far probably not drawn any conclusions from the fact that dangerous behavior was shared here in front of such a large audience.
