Twitch streamer should be paid $500,000 for a single stream fails due to ignorance

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Hasan “HasanAbi” Piker, 31, is best known on Twitch for his political commentary. He’s considered a “clean man” and quite left-leaning, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise to learn that he turned down poker sponsorship. The streamer had no moral concerns at all.

What streamer is this? The political streamer HasanAbi is an outspoken critic of gambling on Twitch and even spoke out in favor of a ban. His stance arguably made him the target of streamer Tyler “Trainwreck” Niknam.

Trainwreck became huge gambling on Twitch and seems to have taken a liking to HasanAbi. He repeatedly describes the political streamer as a hypocrite.

If you want to know who was big before HasanAbi and Trainwreck, take a look at the video:

Twitch: Who were the first successful streamers?

How did the statements come about? The two are currently at loggerheads because Trainwreck made fun of a $50,000 donation that HasanAbi contributed to a fundraiser he organized for earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria. That was a very small percentage and represented only a small portion of his income, Trainwreck said.

In a March 21 stream, HasanAbi addressed the criticism, saying he just doesn’t make as much as Trainwreck either. The streamer also spoke about the failed deal for $ 500,000.

You just don’t earn that much as a political commentator

How does HasanAbi defend himself? The streamer reveals that despite comparable viewer numbers, they simply don’t earn as much as Trainwreck. In the last 365 days (as of 03/22/2023), HasanAbi averaged 30,456 viewers, while the gambling streamer has 27,155 (via sullygnome).

Why is that? HasanAbi explains that he often rejects large sponsors, which is why his streams have comparatively little advertising. In fact, he once turned down an offer of $500,000. We have included the clip for you here:

Half a million dollars for a poker game

What was that offer? As the streamer reports, he was offered half a million dollars for a single poker stream. Apparently he didn’t reject it because of moral concerns, but because he didn’t want to make a fool of himself:

I don’t even have a damn problem with poker. I just don’t know how to play.

The fact that he is even talking about the offer is an absolute exception, according to HasanAbi, it is “the first and last time”. However, the streamer assures its viewers that it was a genuine offer.

HasanAbi’s reluctance to talk about money is understandable, as that has proven to be a touchy subject for the streamer. Because the opponent of capitalism has a certain soft spot for the beautiful things in life, such as expensive cars and big houses – which regularly gets his critics on the scene.
