GTA streamer Viviana received a ban and a lot of criticism after making derogatory remarks to a white viewer. Now she scolds Twitch streamer Félix “xQc” Lengyel for sharing the clip of her behavior.
How did the ban come about? Former Overwatch pro Félix “xQc” Lengyel often reacts to content from reddit, YouTube or TikTok in his streams. In January, he and his viewers watched a clip from the streaming subreddit r/LifestreamFail.
The clip featured a tirade from GTA streamer Viviana towards a viewer named James. In it she made derogatory remarks about whites and used the term “cracker”, which is considered racist.

xQc didn’t say too much about the statements but made it clear that he disagreed with what Viviana had said. Through him, the clip received a lot of attention and Viviana was criticized for her comments.
Also, since racist behavior is against Twitch’s community guidelines, she was banned for a month on January 14th. It was the streamer’s first ban since she started streaming regularly in January 2020 (via streamerbans).
Although the incident has been going on for a month, the streamer has apparently not yet closed it. However, she does not see the fault in herself, but in xQc.
Bans are always a big issue for streamers, as they can lead to a significant loss of income. Twitch is also known for holding back on justifications, which is why fans sometimes get the impression of arbitrariness.
Viviana: “Would use my reach for good”
What is Viviana saying now? In a now-deleted stream, Viviana tearfully opened up about her spell and the role xQc played in it. The streamer apparently blames her fellow Twitch for the criticism she received after the clip broke, accusing him of baiting his “hateful” fans on her:
You are a heartless, sick human being for showing this to your hateful audience. […] Man, that’s fucked up. You’re a fucked up person and I hope you get all the bad that’s about to come your way. Because what the hell is wrong with someone like that?
The GTA streamer explained that this was the end of the matter for her, but that she had to get rid of it all. However, she could not resist one last tip: Viviana, who herself has 118,000 followers, accused the larger streamer of using its reach irresponsibly:
Just to send someone hate just because… all I’ll say about that is if I had a platform like that? I would use them to do good. Not to spread hate against anyone.
xQc has not yet commented on the new tirade. However, viewers see Viviana’s statements rather critically: After all, she talks about wanting to use her reach for good after she was banned for racist comments (via reddit).
While some defended Viviana following her ban, others felt the ban was fully justified and might even have wished for the streamer to have had a longer break.
