Twitch streamer is banned from MMORPG, now threatens to reveal the developer’s secret machinations

Odablock, a Twitch streamer and YouTuber, mainly makes content for the MMORPG old school RuneScape. But now he was banned there – wrongly, he thinks. In a video, he explains the situation from his point of view and settles accounts with a Jagex employee.

What exactly happened? On April 13th, Odablock uploaded a video to YouTube reporting that two of his accounts in Old School RuneScape were permanently banned. There he already expressed the assumption that a certain employee from the developer Jagex could be the reason.

Two days later, the streamer released another video titled: “The Disgusting Corruption Within Jagex.” In it he describes in more detail what – from his point of view – is the reason for the ban and where he sees corruption at the company.

The employee Mod Trident, the company’s anti-cheating specialist, is said to be responsible for the ban. In turn, he has a relationship with a RuneScape streamer who wants to see certain people blocked, even though she is said to have dirt on her own.

What do the developers say about the allegations? There is no official statement from the developers about the allegations. At the current time, April 17 at 2:00 p.m., Odablock is still blocked.

Odablock takes issue with Stella, suspecting her boyfriend has banned him

What does the streamer say? Right from the start, Odablock emphasizes that his criticism is primarily aimed at one person and that most Jagex employees are respectful. Then he reads out the message about his ban. There it says, among other things:

The Anti-Cheating Team contacted us after conducting a routine check and informed us that two of your accounts have been banned – Bald and Omar.

The reason for the bans is the significant hours of paid account service on both accounts. The team was meticulous in their research as they wanted to be sure the information was accurate.

In plain language, the player is said to have paid other people to play his account. That is against the terms of service. Although Odablock may ask questions, the decision on the blocks is final.

The streamer is irritated by these statements:

  • His account Omar has never paid for a service.
  • However, he shares the account with two good friends, which is not forbidden, as the developers themselves emphasized in a live stream.
  • He did pay someone two years ago to let the Bald account play from 90 to 94, but why should that be noticed during a routine check now? And even if he did, the time paid wouldn’t justify a permanent ban when he compares bans to others.
  • Odablock also has other accounts where he bought gold for real money and even one where he openly said in the live stream that he bought services. However, they were not blocked.
  • He suspects Jagex employee Mod Trident and his girlfriend, Twitch streamer Stella, are specifically targeting him. They themselves confirmed that the two are a couple.

What makes him think so? The ban came shortly after the streamer collected a large amount of in-game currency. He got it from his community as “entrance fee” for clan events. To be on the safe side, he discussed this with Mod Trident in order not to be accidentally blocked.

He got the ok from the developer. You can see the course of the conversation in the video.

However, Odablock suspects that with his event he is now a major competitor for the streamer Stella, because she is doing exactly the same with her community. This resulted in his ban.

What’s the problem with Stella? The streamer obviously has little left for Stella. In his video, he emphasizes that some players in Old School RuneScape cheated out of in-game currency and owed other players the equivalent of $50,000.

She is also said to have sold in-game currency for real money several times. She’s even been banned for it in the past.

Mod Trident is said to have blocked people for Stella in the past. As an example, Odablock cites a player who allegedly cheated in Stella’s deathmatch events. However, since these deathmatches are not a real game mode, but only a community event, the banned player did not violate any official rule, but was still punished as such.

It is also striking that after Odablock was blocked, all of Stella’s recordings on Twitch were deleted.

“I must retaliate and disclose everything”

What’s next? It is also striking that many friends and acquaintances of Odablock were also banned for a variety of reasons. In-game there were also protests from his community demanding unlocking.

The streamer has now made it his mission to retaliate and “disclose everything”. He also urges his viewers to report what happened to Jagex.
