Twitch streamer finds the rarest item in Path of Exile twice in a single drop

Shortly after Christmas, Twitch streamer Raxxanterax probably received the ultimate gift in Path of Exile: He scored a “double drop” from Mageblood. Twitch streamer Asmongold explains why this is so cool.

What is Mageblood?

  • This is a powerful and rare belt: it is generally considered the “rarest and therefore most expensive item” in Path of Exile that can drop “pure”. There are better items, but you have to craft them first.
  • One Mageblood is worth several hundred Divine Orbs, the unofficial currency of Path of Exile. It is also a kind of status symbol.
  • Mageblood is the item that players build “Magic Find” builds to find. With a build like this you intentionally make yourself weaker, but increase your chance of getting good loot.

“What’s that icon, I’ve never seen it before?”

Now how was the find? The Twitch streamer Raxxanterax actually comes from Diablo, logged 1,521 hours in Diablo 4 last year, but now also plays Path of Exile or Last Epoch.

He was on a stream around Christmas and found the rare item with a Dropo twice.

He asked, “Is that Mageblood?” “I’ve never seen that icon before,” as his face brightened noticeably.

Asmongold makes the clip a viral hit

This is how the clip went viral: The Twitch streamer Asmongold found this clip and commented on it – the clip then reached over 420,000 people.

Asmongold made some of his patented “I’m so incredibly surprised my eyebrows are flying out of the picture” faces, noted that even the official Path of Exile account was in the streamer’s Twitch chat at the time of the double drop, and then tried to explain to the viewers why the item is so incredibly rare: Asmongold viewers are more familiar with Blizzard’s Diablko 4 than with Path of Exile.

He also explained that the streamer was not allowed to give the item away – the rules prohibit that:

  • Streamers are allowed to accept gifts from viewers in Path of Exile
  • But you aren’t allowed to give anything to the viewers – the developers don’t want that

Streamer thinks his own luck is unfair

While the streamer himself couldn’t believe his luck and was embarrassed that he was so lucky because it couldn’t work like that, Asmongold saw it differently: That was absolutely fair. The streamer played a build with Magic Find and found the item – so everything was okay. That’s exactly how it should be.

People are discussing the clip on Reddit and saying: There is no such feeling of happiness in Diablo 4. You would now find the ultra-rare items like “Shako” all the time or you could easily buy them for gold.

Users comment under Asmongold’s video: The streamer “used up the luck for several lifetimes” in a stream – because shortly afterwards he found other rare items, such as a “Headhunter”, another unique belt.

Why is everyone else always so lucky? Man accidentally got $50,000, thought he was lucky – but luck turned into a nightmare
