Bethesda has now gained a reputation for having some bugs in the games at launch. Many of them are not bad, but rather amusing. A streamer on Twitch has now discovered an extremely curious bug in Starfield.
What is this bug? Players are on spaceships controlled by NPCs. Once the ship takes off, players are thrown out of the ship’s hold. In the videos, players are either still on the ground or gently gliding back to the planet’s surface.
The community suspects that it has to do with the players still being in the cargo hold. The cargo bay is not counted as a starship instance, and as such, players will fall out of it once the starship takes off.
You can see the bug in the following video uploaded to Reddit:
The bug can also be seen with Twitch streamer Jabo. He screams in panic as he hears the spaceship launch signals and laughs his head off as he is thrown out of the spaceship as it launches.
In Skyrim, which also comes from Bethesda, there were just as funny bugs. These include, for example, broken carriages, huge chickens or dancing dragons.
Fallout 4’s wasteland was also riddled with bugs. While the game was more enjoyable to play than its predecessor, there were oddities similar to frozen birds.
Starfield community is excited about bug
How do players react to this? Since this is not a gamebreaking bug, many users take the bug with humor. In the live chat of the Twitch streamer, many viewers laugh. The reactions contrast with the concern the community had beforehand about the bugs.
We’ve rounded up some of the reactions from the Reddit clip above, where players are amused by the bug:
Some players even want there to be such curious bugs in the game. Without them, the games wouldn’t be the classic Bethesda game that many look forward to. We can probably look forward to more fun clips featuring funny bugs from Starfield.
However, it is completely different with gamebreaking bugs. Role-playing giant Baldur’s Gate 3 has to deal with a few errors in act 3 that dampen the fun of the game: Baldur’s Gate 3 is so full of bugs at the end that you can hardly follow the story
