Twitch bans streamer who calls homosexuality a sin

Twitch has banned streamer MelonieMac. The young woman from Texas sees herself being unfairly punished for “hateful behavior.” She just quoted the Bible, according to which homosexuality is a sin. God created the world clearly: there are men and women – everything else is a sin.

This is the ban:

  • Twitch has banned streamer MelonieMac for 14 days for “hateful behavior.” “Hateful conduct” includes behavior that targets people who have “protected characteristics.” Twitch’s policy is that it does not tolerate abusive behavior motivated by prejudice, intolerance or hate.
  • Twitch does not mention the exact statements for which MelonieMac was punished.
  • But the streamer assumes she’s being sanctioned for a 2-minute clip in which she shared her ideas about what kind of sexuality is permitted by God and what is sin.

Streamer says anything other than “husband and wife” is sin

This is what she says in the clip: The streamer from Texas, USA, says:

“Sin is not an identity. LGBT is not an identity, it is not real. It is all a sin directed against God’s creation. Society calls this sin identity to normalize it.”

The streamer then goes on to say: God created the world so that there were “husbands and wives” and nothing else. Everything else is sin.

The concept of “Oh, everyone has a different sexuality” only serves as an excuse to normalize any perversion, such as sodomy with dogs.

How is this discussed? The Twitch streamer Asmongold has particularly criticized the argument (via YouTube) that puts homosexuality close to sex with animals. This is a “typical point” that people who hold this point of view make. Next you have pedophiles who abuse children.

He suggests organizing a GoFundMe to send the young woman to “the most religious country you can find.” In this “religious utopia” she could then see how young women with tattoos and in revealing clothes are treated.

This is discussed critically in the comments. Asmongold has been criticized as “hypocritical” by some YouTube users for his comments.

It says that Twitch is not allowed to restrict such religiously motivated statements.
