After a slow start, Vansessy has had a steep career in the German section of Twitch, straight to the top. But now she has been banned. Instead of pity, there is ridicule from users and colleagues – and a renewed discussion about Twitch’s rules, which the platform itself allegedly does not adhere to.
Who is the streamer?
This is what happened now: Vansessy’s Twitch channel is currently blocked, according to a message there due to a “violation of the community guidelines.” Twitch itself rarely if ever gives a specific reason, but on X, formerly Twitter, people are already sure what is happening is.
The user Bilal_2k, who often comments on the German Twitch scene, shared the ban (via X). In the discussion below, another user posted a picture that clearly stated that Vansessy was banned for 3 days for “lewd behavior.”
Streamers like Amouranth or Vansessy are constantly pushing the limits of what is permitted on Twitch – apparently the streamer ended up on the wrong side of this balancing act. We don’t know at this point which scene exactly was the reason.
Meanwhile, role model Amouranth already has new plans:
“There’s nothing to celebrate at all”
The discussion under Bilal’s post attracts several big names from German Twitch, including Scurrows and Chefstrobel. Both apparently agree with the ban, but are not necessarily happy with it.
The problem is that Twitch’s rules are not enforced consistently enough. Scurrows complains: “I don’t think it’s okay if some people get banned but others don’t. Either there is a line or we should […] Don’t party.”
Chefstrobel, who sees himself confronted with many negative reactions, is of the same opinion. He says: either it should affect everyone or no one. What Vansessy does, hundreds of other streamers would also do. At least the ban is a start.
The success of the hot tub section and other categories in which streamers can dress more revealingly has been the subject of discussion for years. When the nominations came up recently at the Stream Awards, the streamer MckyTV had clear words:
“The list is a disrespect to every woman” – Streamer criticizes the current Twitch charts
